Responsible cleaning

One Planet.
Better Choices for the future

We believe responsible cleaning goes beyond the products we use. It is about making conscious choices across our business to reduce our impact, while continuing to deliver the standard our customers expect.

The choices we make

Cleaning products

Our preferred cleaning brands are Ecostore and Bio-Zyme, which are Eco Choice Aotearoa certified products designed to reduce environmental impact without compromising cleaning performance.
We select products based on the task, the surface, the environment they are being used in and the standard that needs to be achieved. That means choosing the most appropriate option for the job rather than using the same product everywhere, helping us avoid unnecessary chemical use while still meeting the hygiene and presentation requirements of the site.

Controlled dosing

Using more product does not mean a better clean. Our dosing systems help our teams prepare the right concentration for the task, so products are used effectively without unnecessary excess.
This supports a more consistent result while reducing avoidable chemical use, packaging waste and product consumption. Where a ready to use option is better suited to the site, we use that instead to keep the process simple and controlled.

Consumables

We work closely with Tork as our preferred consumables partner because their focus on sustainability, efficiency and responsible product design aligns well with the direction we are taking as a business.
That gives us access to practical washroom and workplace consumable options that support both performance and more responsible use. Where a customer already has an established system, preferred brand or procurement requirement, we can work with suitable alternatives without disrupting the way their site operates.

Vehicles

As we replace and expand our fleet, we prioritise electric and hybrid vehicles to help reduce the impact of the travel required to deliver our services.
Where fuel is still required, we use Z Energy. We chose Z because their focus on supporting New Zealand’s transition towards lower emissions transport, including continued investment in EV charging, aligns with the direction we are taking with our own fleet.
We know changing a fleet of vehicles does not happen overnight, but every purchasing decision gives us an opportunity to move a little further in the right direction.

Electricity

The electricity provider we choose is another way we can make our everyday business decisions more purposeful. We use Mercury because sustainability sits at the centre of its strategy, with a strong focus on kaitiakitanga, renewable energy and leaving the natural environment in a better position for future generations.
Choosing suppliers whose values and direction align with our own helps us extend our sustainability thinking beyond the cleaning service itself and into the wider way Clean Globe operates.

Service planning

Sustainability also comes down to how a cleaning service is planned in the first place. We build each programme around what the property genuinely needs, rather than applying the same frequency, products or methods everywhere.
By matching the service to the way the site is actually used, we can avoid unnecessary cleaning, reduce wasted product and resources, and choose equipment and methods that are appropriate for the task. The goal is to deliver the right standard efficiently, without using more than the job requires.

Clean Globe sustainability - What this means for customers

What this means for customers

Our approach can also be shaped around your organisation’s environmental requirements.
If your business has a sustainability policy, procurement standard or approved product list, we can review those requirements during the site assessment and incorporate them into your cleaning programme where appropriate.
That may include preferred products, consumables, waste requirements or other environmental expectations specific to your workplace.
